TO THE PRINCESS PALACE

Walt Disney World princess training (how to portray Snow White, Aurora, etc.) included a boring three hour segment on standard operating procedures. But with only two or three princesses being trained at any one time, a traditional classroom activity would not work. Lenn designed a "Chutes and Ladders" style board game where each girl, using a small PVC version of their character, would draw a card, and if successful in answering the operating guide question on the card, roll the dice to move forward. As the princesses advanced on the board, they faced additional challenges like the loss of a turn because of a poison apple orchard or a fire breathing dragon blocking the road. The game ended when each player arrived at the Princess Palace (and knew her operating guidelines). The activity was so popular that participants would ask if the game was available for purchase. More importantly, the trainees effectively learned how to be a proper princess.
